Bayern Munich avenge their loss to Hoffenheim in style

Munich: Bayern Munich avenged their loss to Hoffenheim, repeating the same scoreline as the Bavarians dominated from the start on Saturday (January 30). Kingsley Coman and Serge Gnabry were the standout performers during the game.

Countless crosses, menacing dribbles, gritty defending; it was a completely industrious show from Bayern Munich’s default wing duo. They also equalled 1985-86 Werder Bremen’s record of scoring 57 goals after just 19 matchdays.

Muller also registered double figures after six years. Marc Roca had shown that he is more than capable of deputising for Leon Goretzka, who was recently diagnosed with COVID-19. Jerome Boateng’s header from Joshua Kimmich’s corner kick gave Bayern the much-needed breakthrough on 30 minutes.

Muller scored from a stunning long-range effort, following a Robert Lewandowski assist after on 42 minutes. Hoffenheim pulled one back in the next minute through Andrej Kramarić.

Lewandowski scored his 24th goal of the season on 57 minutes, thanks to great work from Coman. King Coman assisted Gnabry to make it 4-1 for Bayern on 62 minutes. Benjamin Pavard’s goal is ruled out after VAR check on 70 minutes.
