Odisha FC, Jamshedpur FC share points after high-drama

Goa: Odisha FC and Jamshedpur FC shared points after two first-half goals by Nerijus Valskis was cancelled by Diego Mauricio in the last minute of the stoppage time, to finish a highly entertaining match even-steven.

In the first half Jamshedpur FC looked very sharp as they were having the lion share of position and Valskis scored his first goal in the 12th minute from a spot-kick. In the 28th minute, he scored his second and took a healthy lead for Jamshedpur FC.

In the second half, Odisha FC started fearlessly as they wanted to fetch their first point in the Indian Super League season seven. In the 59th minute, Manuel Onwu was replaced by Mauricio and it was a like for like change for Odisha FC. In the 74th minute, Jamshedpur FC goalkeeper TP Rehenesh was given the marching order by the referee and it made the difference in the game.

In the 77th minute, super-sub Mauricio scored his first, and Odisha started to press the 10-men Jamshedpur side and in the 93rd minute of the match Mauricio scored his second and the match ended in a two-all draw. A highly entertaining match ends even-steven.

Odisha and Jamshedpur both looked they lacked enough combination between them. No doubt it’s just the start of the season but still, after the second round, it looks like these two sides lack depth in them. We hope that with so many experienced players playing in both sides, the teams will come back stronger in their next matches.
