Wellington : England defeated New Zealand by 323 runs in 2nd Test, to bag the 3 match Test series 2-0.

England Batting first in 1st innings lost 4 quick wickets for 43 runs, with Matt Henry and Nathan Smith taking 2 each.

Harry Brook (123) & Ollie Pope (66) with 174 runs partnership helped England end the innings with 280 runs. Kiwi pacers Nathan Smith (4/86) & William O’Rourke (3/49) played big role to restrict England to this score.

New Zealand coming to Bat in 1st innings saw Gus Atkinson and Brydon Carse crush them to 125 runs, with both the pacers picking 4-fers.

England coming to Bat in 2nd innings displayed sheer Batting display with likes of Joe Root (106), Ben Duckett (92), Harry Brook (55), Ben Stokes (49*), hammered Kiwi Bowlers and declaring at 427-6.

New Zealand chasing mammoth 583 runs, despite lone efforts from Tom Blundell (115) got bundled for 259 & lost the match by 323 runs.

Harry Brook was adjourned man of the match for his heroics.

Both the teams will face each other at Seddon Park, Hamilton from December 14, 2024 for 3rd and final Test of the series.
