Mumbai City FC rope Indian defender Mehtab Singh ahead of ISL 2020-21

Mumbai: Indian Super League(ISL) side Mumbai City FC have signed Indian defender Mehtab Singh ahead of the upcoming 2020/21 season. As per reports, the youngster penned a three-year contract that will keep him at the Mumbai Football Arena untill 2023.The club unveiled the signing on social media on Saturday(October 24).

I am here to work hard, I am here to learn and most importantly, I am here to compete. The Club, our coach and I, we have the same desires and the same targets and that is to become the best in the country and win trophies. I look forward to my journey here in my new” home.” Added Mehtab on the move.

The 22-year-old centre back learned his traits at the Mahilpur Football Academy back in Punjab before joing the East Bengal academy in Kolkata with which made his senior debut in 2016. Mehtab made 6 appearances his first three seasons with the Kolkata giants while he was on loan for second half of the 2018/19 campaign with Gokulam Kerala. He made 11 appearances for East Bengal last season in the I-league.
