Kolkata : Bengal Under-23 men’s team outclassed Chandigarh by 153 runs in Ranchi on Friday to finish their Elite Group A campaign with an all-win record in the Men’s U23 State A Trophy.
Having already sealed quarterfinals berth ahead of their final group game, Bengal went full throttle in all departments to keep their confidence sky-high. Bengal finish top of the group with 28 points from seven games, having won all their matches.
Batting first, Bengal scored 296/6 in 50 overs. Subham Singh (61 off 85), Shashank Singh (58 off 62), Soumyadip Manna (48 off 42), Anas Ali Khan (41 off 58), Prayas Ray Barman (31 not out off 16), Irshad Alam (19 not out off 11) were the star batters for Bengal.
In reply, Chandigarh were bundled out for 143 in 34.2 overs. For Bengal, Sukhmeet Singh, Shivam Roy, Irshad, Prayas bagged two wickets each while Dilshad Khan claimed one.
With seven successive victories in the group stage, Bengal U23 men’s team enter the quarterfinals of One-Day meet with confidence sky-high.
