Manoj Tiwary suggests he is ready to replace Harbhajan Singh at CSK

Kolkata: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered back-to-back blows after Suresh Raina and veteran spinner Harbhajan Singh pulled out of the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL) due to personal reasons. With two major players opting out of the side, CSK might think of bringing in some replacements. Indian batsman Manoj Tiwary has boldly suggested he would like to be one via twitter.

It all started when a journalist pointed out that CSK do not have a pundit off-spinner in their rank after Harbhajan’s withdrawal, and tweeted, “With Harbhajan missing, @ChennaiIPL don’t have an off-spinner in their ranks. Kedar Jadhav will be the only one who can offer them this variety. Everyone else take the ball away from the right-hander.”

Manoj noticed the tweet and was quick to reply to it. The right-handed batsman posted a video of himself bowling leg-spin and getting the batsman stumped and wrote, “Will dis work ??”

However, it won’t be surprising if Manoj gets the call-up from CSK as a replacement. He is not a new face for the IPL as he has earlier played under Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the now-defunct Rising Pune Supergiants. He had played a crucial role when the team made it to the final in 2017.

Tiwary represents Bengal in domestic cricket and played also for Kolkata Knight Riders, Kings XI Punjab in the IPL. He made his India debut in 2008 and scored his maiden ODI international century against West Indies and was also a part of the 2012 T20 World Cup India squad.
