Manchester: The Manchester United and Jadon Sancho story is likely to come to an end as Borrusia Dortmund chief Michael Zorc has made it clear that they aren’t releasing the youngster this summer. However, speculations are rife that United are in talks for French star Ousmane Dembele.
The Frenchman joined Barcelona in 2017 from Dortmund but was never up to the mark as he was plagued by injuries mostly. His expectations were never met in Sapin and it’s possible that the club might look for a possible transfer. A star in Germany, Dembele joined the Catalan giants as a replacement for Neymar but never reached the heights as expected. The 140m-dollar star had very less game time in La Liga this season due to injury and is expected to leave the club for a better future.
United on the other hand had an eye in Sancho since March. Manager Ole Gunner Solskjaer was excited to bring him at the Old Trafford but seems now it’s unlikely. Dortmund wanted 100 million dollars for Dembele but the deadline was August 10.
United even targeted another Frenchman from Bayern, Kingsley Coman, whose game time is going to cut short due to the latest inclusion of Leroy Sane at the club. But the Dembele speculation is new and we know how much a capable player he is on his days. Even the cost of Dembele is going to be less than that of Sancho. Solskjer is aiming to get this French star from Barcelona to have more power in the attack.
