Manchester: Manchester United suffered a 2-1 defeat against Sheffield United in the Premier League at the Old Trafford stadium on Wednesday(January 28). Harry Maguire netted one from corner for the home side while Kean Bryan and Oliver Burke were on the score sheet for Sheffield.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer set up his side in a 4-2-3-1 formation with youngster Alex Tuanzebe paired with Harry Maguire at the heart of the defence. Matic along with Paul Pogba formed a double pivot in the midfield, while Anthony Martial lead the forward line alongside Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford with Bruno Fernandes playing as a no.10 behind them.

Despite enjoying good possession, Red Devils failed to turn the scoresheets as they lacked the finishing touch. Sheffield took the lead in the first half as Kean Bryan headed it home from John Fleck’s corner courtesy of a poor goal keeping from De Gea.

However United equalised through Harry Maguire’s header in the 64th minute from a corner by Alex Telles. Solskjaer substituted Greenwood for Cavani late in the second half to sharpen the attacking prowess of the team.

Oliver Burke scored the winner for the visitors striking it inside the box before the ball got ricochet off Tuanzebe, deceiving De Gea to frustrate the league leaders who now stand behind Manchester City in the table trailing by a point.
