Liverpool: Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea will be paying a visit to Anfield being hosted by Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in an exciting tie on Saturday, August 28.

This is such a fascinating game, one which provides both teams with the chance to make a statement. It’s massive,” Football expert and columnist, Paul Merson told Sky Sports.

He further added that this tie will serve as a testimonial, for whether Chelsea are title contenders or not. He continued saying that, unlike Arsenal,Liverpool would not let Romelu Lukaku thump them.

“Romelu Lukaku has undoubtedly improved Chelsea, but the acid test for their title credentials will be the Liverpool game.”

“What I saw from Arsenal on Sunday at the Emirates was everything you shouldn’t do against Lukaku from a defensive sense, that won’t happen again at Anfield. People say Jurgen Klopp doesn’t change his way, but he will have to change something.”

Chelsea have had a great start to the season, with a win over Villareal , and two consecutive wins in the league, there show of football had brought in a lot of compliments, as they are deemed as favourites to win the league, even though boss Tuchel thinks otherwise. While their opponents had an underwhelming season last year, the return of Virgil Van Djik, Joe Gomez, Jordan Henderson, have boosted the squad. Liverpool had claimed victories over Norwich City and Burnley, with identical 3-0 scoreline and sit at the third position in the table. Their victory against Chelsea wound see them move a spot upwards.

Earlier the same day, Arsenal will be seeking their first victory in Premier League, against defending champions Manchester City at Etihad Stadium. Arsenal having failed to win , both of their first few matches, getting one of the bottom spots, would be desperate to win, after making a 6-0 triumph over West Brom in EFL Cup, although their task would not be easy against Pep Guardiola’s City, who have picked up their pace with a win against Norwich City, after faltering against Tottenham Hotspurs in their opener.

At the same time, Newcastle United and Brighton will be facing Southampton and Everton respectively while at Carrow Road, Norwich City host Leicester City. West Ham United will be up against Crystal Palace, while Aston Villa take on the newly promoted Brentford.
