Madrid: Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi is reportedly sleeping on an anti-COVID-19 mattress in order to keep him and his family away from the threat of the virus. The mattress costs nearly £900 (Rs 88,000) and kills the virus within four hours.

The Barcelona captain is among the richest footballers on the planet and has been very much active in helping mankind during this pandemic situation. He has already donated a hefty amount to the Argentine government to fight against this crisis.

Multiple news outlets in the Spanish media have made claims that Messi has acquired Tec Moon’s COVID-19 mattress in these pandemic times. The company has Atletico Madrid’s Saul Niguez as a brand ambassador and is also used by Messi’s Argentina teammate Sergio Aguero. As mentioned earlier the mattress kills the virus within four hours so it seems that the ‘little magician’ has added a layer more of protection to fight against COVID-19.

It has been reported that the mattress uses a system called ‘Viruclean’ that uses nanoparticles embedded in tissues to sweep 99 percent of the viruses and harmful bacteria aside. The 33-year-old Argentine had gone through a wage cut along with his teammates due to the crisis in the market, thus helping the team to step up and fight against the setbacks.

Barcelona will face Bayern Munich in a quarterfinal clash in the Champions League at Lisbon on August 14. The Argentine didn’t have the best of the season but recent form shows a glimmer of hope for the Catalan side before they face the strong challenge of Bayern.
