Goa: Struggling at the bottom half of the table, Bengaluru FC and Kerala Blasters come face to face in search of a spot in the top four at GMC Stadium in Bambolim. Kerala with the help of Jordan Murry has found themselves out of the box. Their goalscoring issue has been solved and now they have to focus on their defence.
The Kerala defence has always asked questions for their poor outing throughout the season and this has been an area of concern for Kibu Vicuna’s side. Before facing a comparatively weak Bengaluru side, Vicuna said, “Every game is different, every team we are going to play is different with a different structure and shape. We are looking at the players we have, the team we have and the structure in which we are more confident and try to put the best team possible on the field.”
“If you score more than you concede, the morale is automatically high. We are working on that. The important thing right now is that the last few matches we have been creating chances. We have to continue this with balance and limit opponents to lesser chances and (ensure) that they don’t score,” Vicuna further added.
Bengaluru on the other hand is having the toughest ISL season. Sunil Chettri and his men have been missing a clan no. 9 like Miku Fedor used to be for them and the problem has increased badly this season.
Struggling in the seventh position in the league the former Champions have been finding it difficult to match the feet with other big boys of the league.
Coach Nausad Moosa said this in the pre-match press conference, “There is a lot of positivity in the camp now. We got a good 5-6 days for training. We worked on what all things were not going our way. Hopefully, we’ll play a better game tomorrow.”
BFC would miss their playmaker Dimas Delgado as he had to fly back to Spain due to a family emergency. When asked about this coach Moosa said, “He was an important part of our team, no doubt about it.” He further added, ” But this is what football is all about. It is not that we don’t have good players — we have quality players.”
