Vitoria-Gasteiz: A brace from Karim Benzema helped Real Madrid ease past Alaves 4-1 in an away fixture. Head coach Zinedine Zidane wasn’t on the sidelines after he was tested positive for COVID-19.

Eden Hazard also shone after a long time for the Men in White to score a goal and helping with an assist during the first half. Casemiro opened the scoring for Real on 15 minutes. Alongside scoring a goal he also put up a sturdy defensive cover for his team.

Karim Benzema doubled the lead for the visitors on 41 minutes, scoring at the top corner from the edge of the box. It was unstoppable. He completed his brace during the second half as his goal secured the game for his team finding the bottom corner of the net on 70 minutes.

Hazard showed glimpses of his old self, as he bobbled the ball after a pass from cross over Fernando Pacheco during the first-half injury time. The Belgian also assisted Benzema for Los Blancos’ second goal with a backheel effort.

The night ended on a good note for Real after being knocked out both from Copa del Rey and Spanish Super Cup. They successfully maintained their second spot in La Liga.
