Kolkata : Cricket Association of Bengal has appointed coaching panels for Junior and Senior level – Women Bengal teams for 2026-27 season.
Bengal Senior Women’s Team
Former Indian legendary fast bowler Jhulan Goswami has been appointed as Mentor of Bengal Senior Women’s Team. Also known as ‘Chakdah Express’, Jhulan played 284 international matches and taken 355 wickets – most by any women in International Cricket. She took India to new heights struggling and working hard at a time when Women’s Cricket was a taboo in society. Her dedication and success story have inspired many Girls in India and Bengal to take up Cricket. Besides this, she continues to groom many young girls in fast bowling. She also has experience coaching for 2 times WPL champion Mumbai Indians as bowling coach and mentor, and CPL women’s side Trinbago Knight Riders as mentor. Her guidance won Mumbai Indians title in very first season. She has also previously been bowling consultant/player-mentor for the India women’s national cricket team, passing on her tactical expertise directly to the squad. Jhulan’s presence in Bengal Women’s setup as Mentor will be beneficial to groom future youngsters.
Probal Dutta will continue as Chief Coach of Bengal. He has been in the role since 2022. Besides this, he has coached East Zone and Murshidabad Kweens and bring valuable experience to the lineup. Anannya Mitra will be the Coach of the team, having past experiences in Bengal and North East Women camp. She was called for BCCI Camp and tournament last year as coach, and has been the part of BCCI Centre of Excellence. Arjun Anil (Strength and Conditioning), Meenu Nagar (Physiotherapist), Tagarika Chattopadhyay (Masseur), Prasenjit Mukherjee (Video Analyst) are other support staffs.
Bengal Women’s U23 Team
For U23 team, Rituparna Roy, also known as one of the most promising coaches in India has been appointed as Chief Coach. Passionate about Cricket since young age, Rituparna has previously coached India A Women’s team efficiently and has been part of BCCI Centre of Excellence, Vidarbha Women and North East Senior Women head coach. Previously she guided Bengal U23 and Senior team to One Day titles in 2019.
Former Indian and Bengal Cricketer Sukanya Parida is the coach of the team. Beas Sarkar (Strength and Conditioning), Priyanka Senapaty (Physiotherapist), Shiladitya Banerjee (Video Analyst), Rupali Shil (Masseur) are other support staffs.
Bengal Women’s U19 Team
Rumeli Dhar, who was previously with BCCI Centre of Excellence, U19 Elite Girls Camp, has been appointed as U19 Women’s Chief coach. She has represented India in 100 international matches, claiming 84 wickets. Rumeli played for Bengal, Air India, Rajasthan, Assam, Delhi, Railways, taking 204 wickets in 224 matches. She has experience in coaching Odisha Women’s Cricket team and brings diverse experience for young girls. Neha Maji who previously played for India Red and Bengal is the Coach. Balaji Narsimhan (Strength and Conditioning coach), Sudeshna Banerjee (Physiotherapist), Debayan Basak (Video Analyst) are other coaching staffs.
Bengal Women’s U15 Team
Arpita Ghosh – the former domestic cricketer and prominent coach from Bengal will be the Chief Coach of U15 team. She previously served as coach of Kolkata in Bengal T20 League and led CAB’s U23 and U15 Women’s development programs.
Dipali Shaw, the former Sobisco Smashers Malda coach and Bengal player will be the coach. Biswanath Pradhan (Strength and conditioning coach), Manisha Ghosh (Physiotherapist), Binod Thakur (Video Analyst) are other coaching staffs.
With the experienced minds in place, Bengal Girls will be prepared to excel for a better future.
