Jamie Vardy’s late strike denies Manchester United

London: Manchester United’s 10-match away win streak comes to a halt after they were held by Leicester City 2-2 at the Kings Power Stadium on Boxing Day. Marcus Rashford and Bruno Fernandes scored for United and for the Foxes it was Harvey Barnes and Jamie Vardy. This draw will make Liverpool FC happy sitting at the top.

Both teams were hoping for a victory to go close to the top of the table, but the result will not make any of the sides happy — a fair result in a highly entertaining match. United could have scored in the beginning after Rashford missed an open header inside the box, but came up strong to open the scoring in the 23rd minute.

It didn’t take more than eight minutes for Barnes to equalise from a pile-driver outside the box. The second half started with the Foxes attacking as they wanted. James Maddison and Vardy linked well but failed to score.

But Ole Gunner Solskjaer made a perfect change as he brought in Edinson Cavani in place of Anthony Martial and the Uruguayan made an instant impact by assisting Fernandes in the 79th minute and United to go 2-1 up. But King Vardy helped his side to make a comeback in the 85th minute.
