Goa: FC Goa head coach Juan Ferrando has admitted that there is pressure every time, and he wants to thrive on these to create a path of success for the Gaurs in the Indian Super League.

“We have pressure every training session. It is not because we play against Mumbai. It is the same level, even if we play against North-East, it is pressure because we want to get three points. We want to improve a lot of details. Tomorrow is the same, but it is not because we play against Mumbai,” Ferrando said ahead of their clash against Mumbai City FC on Monday.

Mumbai City sit on the top of the table with 33 points from 15 matches followed by ATK Mohun Bagan who have 30 points. FC Goa are at the third position with 22 points from the same number of games.

“Because there are a lot of players who played together for three years, in my case it is a new chapter with a new squad and new young players. But that is not the pressure, of course we have pressure every game,” he added on being asked if the 11-point gap with the leaders is putting any pressure on the players.

“Of course don’t in one month two month we play Championship, we have pressure, a lot of pressure. It is necessary to play to control these emotions. It is necessary to control the dressing room. It is pressure every day, because this team, this club wants to win all the time.”

Mumbai City FC have been in raving form this season and with Sergio Lobera as their head coach (former FC Goa gaffer), Monday’s clash is going to be a mouth-watering one and the one to watch out for. The Gaurs are coming into the game after four consecutive draws while Mumbai have beaten Kerala Blasters 2-1 in their last game.

“For me, it is a normal game. Of course we want to play and get three points. We want to prepare our plan and practice this plan on the pitch because our target will be the playoff and to improve game by game.

“To continue to work in some detail because in the last few games we had some problems and this is the most important. But this is not special. Not special, because this is not the final or the semi-final. I think it’s one game more for us. Of course we want to get these three points for us,” he concluded.
