Goa: Mumbai City FC paid the price for a single mistake as they were held to a 1-1 draw against Channaiyin FC at the GMC Stadium in Bambolim on Monday. Bartholomew Ogbeche scored for the table-toppers while it was Isma Goncalves.

The match started with Chennaiyin creating chances in the second minute after a shot from Isma was stopped by Amrinder Singh under Mumbai’s goal. Lallinzuala Chhangte came close to score but it was Amrinder again who stopped his team’s fall.

Mumbai hit back in the 21st minute after Ogbeche scored the opener for them. A clinical finish from the former Nigerian international. In the second half, Mumbai continued their pressure on Chennaiyin but failed to increase the lead.

Against the run of play, Ahmed Jahouh conceded a penalty in the 75th minute and Isma scored the equaliser for the two-time ISL Champions.

Certainly, Sergio Lobera won’t be happy with the match and how it has ended and even with Jahouh’s mistake. By Csaba Laszlo, it would bring some fresh air from the misery of what his team has been this season.
