Jamshedpur: Twenty-eight-year-old Indian winger Jackichand Singh has signed for Jamshedpur FC on Tuesday (August 18). He has been one of the stars of Indian football for a long time now.
Jacki had a great season with FC Goa last year. He scored five and assisted three for Goa last season making him one of the impactful players who led them to AFC Champions League qualification. “Playing for Jamshedpur FC is a fantastic opportunity for me. Jamshedpur is one club in India that has everything a player needs, and the entire country knows how passionate and vocal the people of Jharkhand are for football,” Jackiechand said.
“I am convinced with the philosophy and the path Jamshedpur FC are following and hope to contribute with my heart and soul to help the club achieve much-deserved success. Of course, I look forward to achieving this under the robust leadership of Owen Coyle.”

Inclusion of Jacki made the Jamshedpur side strong and firm in the middle. They were lacking leaders in the middle last season, which made them finishing in the bottom half of the table after a blistering start. The Indian winger signed a three-year contract and expected to perform in a similar manner which he did for Goa.
After this signing Jamshedpur’s newly appointed manager Owen Coyle said, “Mesmerizing – one word to perfectly describe Jacki. He is a highly rated and talented winger who was wanted by many teams in the ISL. Signing a top-class winger has been one of our key objectives, and I’m delighted he’s joining. He will add pace, power, and creativity, with the aim of bringing more goals to our team.”
Jacki has played in big clubs like Salgaocar, East Bengal FC, Kerala Blasters FC, FC Pune City, Mumbai FC and FC Goa before, with a successful stint for each of the club. He broke into the football circuit in 2014 when he used to play for Royal Wahingdoh. In the 2014-15 I-League campaign, he is among those promising youngsters who are now superstars of Indian football. He will wear jersey no. 12 for Jamshedpur FC while playing for them this season.
