Hyderabad: Kerala Blasters FC ensures a perfect win before heading for the playoffs of Indian Super League (ISL). Mohammed Aimen scored and assisted as Daisuke Sakai and Nihal Sudeesh netted too to help Kerala Blasters enroute a clinical outing against the Thangboi Singto-coached Hyderabad FC. A consolation goal by Joao Victor proved insufficient to rescue Hyderabad FC from the tangible outcome out of this game at the Gachibowli Stadium tonight.

Hormipan Ruivah and Saurav Mandal interlinked the right flank to inject immense excitement in the Kerala Blasters FC. In the 34th minute, the duo engaged in quick passes as Mandal lobbed the ball in for Aimen, who headed the ball into the back of the net.

Mandal is probably offering answers to Vukomanovic’s goal-scoring questions ahead of the playoffs. Mandal surged into the box from the right six minutes into the second half, taking the Hyderabad FC defence by surprise. He sent in a low cross for Daisuke Sakai to hit in, doubling the visitors’ lead.

The goal-scoring fever continued into the final ten or so minutes of the game. In the 81st minute, Aimen turned provider again, laying up a fairly simple service for Nihal on the right side of the box, who tucked the ball right into the middle of the net, showcasing the indigenous talent and promise that brims through the Kerala Blasters FC ranks. Victor’s strike in the 88th minute was the consequence of some opportune inventiveness by Alex Saji, who laid the ball in front of the former through his head to pull back a goal that was too little, too late for the squad.

Saurav Mandal was the key performer of the match with 15 complete passes out of the 20, tackling once, intercepting twice, creating two goal-scoring chances, lastly putting two assists.

Kerala Blasters FC tasted win after five matches through this game. Losing four games and having a draw due to consecutive injuries derailed the first half of the season for the Tuskers. Kerala Blasters FC will now face Odisha FC in the ISL 2023-24 playoffs, however Hyderabad FC haults for this season.
