ISL 2022-23: Hyderabad FC, Mumbai City FC share spoils

Pune: Defending champions Hyderbad FC share a point with Mumbai City FC both sides started their Indian Super League (ISL) campaign off with an enthralling 3-3 draw at the Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex in Pune.

Mumbai City FC started the first-half with full attack and almost got a chance in the fifth minute. Jorge Pereyra got Bipin Singh inside the box with a well-timed through ball. However, the winger rippled the net from the outside. Within ten minutes, Hyderabad got its first shot on target. Chinglensana Singh headed a Joel Chianese free kick straight to Phurba Lachenpa.

Mumbai City FC made a strong counter in the 23rd minute. Bipin Singh blitzed down the left flank to whop a low ball into the box. Chinglesana got it deflected to his own net. Hyderabad FC pulled level in the last minute of first-half stoppage time. Joao Victor sent the keeper the wrong way from a penalty earned by Lalengmawia.

Five minutes into the second half, Chianese took advantage of a midfield mixup. He played the ball through to Mohammed Yasir, who played an inch-perfect pass to Halicharan Narzary. Narzary made no mistake in slotting the ball past the keeper.

Once more, parity was established in the 85th minute. Bipin redirected the ball in Stewart’s direction. The substitute Alberto Noguera side-footed the ball into the goal from close range after the striker sent it through to him. In the last moments of the game, both teams searched for a victory but ultimately settled for a point.
