Guwahati: Hyderabad FC tastes maiden win of Indian Super League 2022-23 with a dominating victory against NorthEast United. Hyderabad FC won 3-0 at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium with Bartholomew Ogbeche, Halicharan Narzary and Borja Herrera getting their names in the scoresheet.

As the match proceeded, the Highlanders got a glimpse of what was coming. In the 13th minute, Mohamed Irshad brought down Halicharan Narzary and got his name called by the referee. With the gifted free-kick, Bartholomew Ogbeche side-footed Mohammad Yasir’s beautiful ball into the nets.

Midway through the first-half, the defending champions attacked with a counter from Yasir. An inch-perfect pass to Narzary was played to Javier Siverio. However, the Spaniard’s attempt was saved by a stretching Arindam Bhattacharja.

Five minutes into the second half, Ogbeche and Siverio played a sublime one-two. Nevertheless, Ogbeche was taken down inside the box by Gaurav Bora, and the referee immediately marked the spot. Ogbeche took the penalty but Bhattacharja went the correct way to deny the Nigerian.

Another instance of NorthEast United FC sloppiness led to a goal-scoring opportunity that was successfully converted in the 69th minute. Bhattacharja rolled the ball in the direction of Bora, but Narzary took it away from him. The 28-year-old scored Hyderabad FC’s 100th ISL goal while maintaining his calm. After four minutes, Narzary made a good pass to left flank replacement Borja Herrera. Soon after entering the game, Herrera scored Hyderabad FC’s third goal of the night.
