Goa: For the first Kolkata Derby of the season, ATK Mohun Bagan with a 3-0 scoreline, left SC East Bengal out of answers in the 2021-22  Indian Super League (ISL) at the Tilak Maidan Stadium in Vasco da Gama, Goa on Saturday (November 27).

Antonio Habas went with a unchanged side, the one which ran rampage against Kerala Blasters FC and his side did not disappoint him. Whereas Manolo Diaz, brought AFC Ajax academy graduate Darren Sidoel as Daniel Chima was dropped. East Bengal looked sharp for an initial few minutes, unaware of the upcoming disaster.

Roy Krishna opened the scoring for ATKMB on 12 minutes. He now has scored in every match, that is two out of two. Manvir Singh  found Pritam Kotal, as the dangerous Roy Krishna was left unmarked and swinged a right-footer past Arindam Bhattacharya’s far-side just  within the opening 12 minutes.

It was Manvir next, who wasted no time and doubled the lead for Bagan on 14 minutes.Joni Kauko laid it off for Manvir, taking advantage of the weak left side of the East Bengal backline. Manvir made no mistake as he slammed it past Arindam.

Liston Colaco ensured the match was in their control as a fumble from Arindam put an open goal in front of him, on 23 minutes ATKMB was 3-0 up. With captain, Arindam injured things looked much more uphill for East Bengal.

The scoreline remained unchanged for the rest of the match as ATKMB kept looking for more, but unable to convert it.East Bengal had no shots on target during the entire match. It was much relief to the East Bengal that ATKMB failed to find the back of the net any further into the second half.

With two wins from the two matches played, ATK Mohun Bagan jumped to the top of the table, two ahead of Jamshedpur FC. They next face the defending champions Mumbai City midweek while SC East Bengal will play Odisha FC next.
