Goa: A last-minute score from Ishan Pandita secured Jamshedpur FC a 3-2 win over NorthEast United at the Athletic Stadium. Today’s result elevated Owen Coyle’s men to third place in the table to level points with second-placed Mumbai City FC and toppers Hyderabad FC.
Highlanders’ striker Deshorn Brown (4′) took the lead with a penetrating pass from Suhair Vadakkepeedika and was found in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper. The Jamaican was calmly right-footed it in the left corner to have the breakthrough at the fourth minute of the game. The equalizer could have come after a few minutes as Jordan Murray missed an open goal from a diving header, wasting a massive chance to score. A call for a penalty was called off by the referee when Provat Lakra tripped Greg Stewart inside the box. The Scottish forward got another chance to score the equalizer but his left-footed shot was pushed away by Mirshad Michu. The goal finally came Jordan Murray(44′) who jumped the highest to direct Stewart’s free-kick in the net with his head.

Jamshedpur FC kept their strength in the second half as well. Within seconds, a strong Murray’s shot from the right corner of the box faced Michu’s intervention. The Men of Steel got their lead from Boris Singh in the 56th minute. The cut-back from Murray was well placed inside the empty box by the right foot of the winger. With five minutes of added time, Brown(90+1′) poured in his second of the day after weaving past the goalkeeper. A couple of minutes later, Ishan Pandita(90+3′) scored the winner, acting as the super-sub yet again. The striker made no mistake in finishing from close range and stealing the three vital points for his team from the show.
