ISL 2021-22: ATKMB settle for a goalless draw; Sunil Chhetri equals league record

Goa :ATK Mohun Bagan and Odisha played out a timid 0-0 draw in the Indian Super League (ISL) game at the PJN Stadium in Fatorda, on Sunday ( January 23). Sunil Chhetri scored his 48th ISL goal and equalized the League’s all-time record goalscorer, Ferran Corominas’ tally in a Hyderabad FC with FC Goa to a 1-1 draw at Bambolim.

Roy Krishna showed early intentions as he drove from close but the angle was too acute as Arshdeep Singh saved it without much fuss. Soon afterwards Liston Colaco let a long ranger fly.Colaco yet agaim missed a close chance just before the half-hour mark as Arshdeep was forced to make another brilliant save later.

Javi Hernandez orchestrated a couple of chances against his former side. His first chance hit the side netting and the chance had a sketchy clearance from a corner. Hernandez kept Bagan on their toes. As Odisha looked a much better side in the latter.

Odisha have 17 points while the Mariners have 16, having played two games less as both the team maintained their 6th and 7th position respectively.

Dylan Fox  scored on 41 minutes, his first goal for the Gaurs with a header. Sunil Chhetri  equalised on 61 minutes with his first of the campaign. The stalemate kept both Bengaluru FC and FC Goa in eighth and ninth place respectively in the points table with both teams having 14 points.

Bengaluru FC face Chennaiyin FC next whereas FC Goa will face Jamshedpur FC. As for ATKMB, a derby is on the line as they next face SC East Bengal.
