Goa: NorthEast United FC stayed unbeaten in the Indian Super League after they played out a goalless draw against Chennaiyin FC. This draw helped them to regain their second position with 10 points after six matches. For Chennai, nothing improved, as they languish in the bottom half with five points after five matches.

This match was important for both sides as the league has been turning its tune. But in such a competitive league one good match for one side can turn the table. Gerard Nus’s side has been playing some positive football since the start of this season. It didn’t change today. They have played some good passes and attacked the Chennai defensive half.

Missed opportunities from Idrissa Sylla and Krisse Appiah couldn’t help them to earn three points out of this match. Or else they might have clinched victorious. Chennaiyin FC tried and tried. It’s been their story this season. Some unfortunate results have been happening with them in every match. They started their campaign with a win but have been struggling since then.

On Sunday’s match, they did create some positive chances but failed to convert them in goal. Hope that they make a stellar comeback last season this year too.
