He caused much problem to Mandar Rao Desai as the veteran was finding difficult to stop the silky skills of the Spaniard. The Gaurs scored their first goal on the 20th minute mark after Ortiz was fouled inside the box by Mandar and Angulo scored the penalty.

Mumbai then came back into the match on the 38th with a Boumous goal and the match went 1-1 after the first half. In the second half Goa started to pull the strings again and in the 59th minute Gama scored a solo goal which could have given them the cutting edge in the tie. But in the 62nd minute Fall stepped up to score the equalizing goal from an Ahmed Jahouh cross and the match ended 2-2 at the end of the 90 minutes with all to play for in the second leg on Monday.
