Kolkata : India have announced squad for ICC T20 World Cup 2026 on December 20, 2025.
The squad, led by Surya Kumar Yadav, misses out Shubman Gill, owing to rough patch, as a result, Axar Patel is appointed as vice captain of the team. There was no room for Jitesh Sharma either as India picked Ishan Kishan, who took wild card entry after being highest run scorer in Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025 with 517 runs in 10 matches. The other wicket keeper Batter is Sanju Samson who could also be the potential opener along with in form Abhishek Sharma. Rinku Singh is also included out of blues.
Other inclusions are veteran all rounder Hardik Pandya, Shivam Dube, Tilak Varma.
Veteran pacer Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh and Harshit Rana are also selected. Spinners include experienced Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, Varun Chakaravarthy.
India are placed in Group A along with Pakistan, USA, Netherlands, Namibia. The tournament will kick start on February 7, 2026.
