Kolkata: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is considering conducting the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League in six different locations around the country.

The Indian board has picked three locations to host over 70 IPL matches in 2022: Mumbai, Pune, and Ahmedabad. Five venues in Maharashtra, four of which are in the capital city Mumbai itself, are part of the planning.

The report also mentioned that the BCCI is likely to announce the full schedule of IPL 2022 by the end of this month. It is expected the IPL 2022 will be held between March 27- May 28.

However, it would be difficult to conduct as the board needed to set up the bio-bubble in also locations. So they might consider the option that Indian Super League 2021-22 had taken to host the eighth season of the league in one centralised venue, Goa, yet again like the 2020-21 season.

Thus, likewise, if IPL organizers consider one centralised location for the tournament, it would be beneficial for everyone keeping in mind the Covid-19 pandemic scenario.

Earlier, some reports suggest that Kolkata as an option for the location of IPL for this season.

Last week, the BCCI hosted the IPL 2022 auction, which lasted two days at the ITC Gardenia Hotel in Bengaluru.

Ten teams were left with enough content to assemble dangerous sides after a total of 204 players were sold in two days for a total of 551.7 crores.
