Visakhapatnam : Delhi Capitals defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 7 Wickets at ACA VDCA Stadium, Visakhapatnam in IPL 2025 clash. Mitchell Starc’s 5-fer & Faf du Plessis’ half century helped DC emerge victorious.
Bowling first, Mitchell Starc rattled SRH middle order taking wickets of Travis Head, Nitish Reddy, Ishan Kishan, after Abhishek Sharma was run out.
SRH youngster Aniket Verma (74) & Heinrich Klaasen (32) notched up vital 77(42) runs partnership, bringing SRH back into the game.
Aniket’s blistering knock of 74 (41) included 6 sixes and 5 boundaries.
However, Starc and Kuldeep Yadav rattled SRH on 163 (18.4). Starc picked 5 wickets while Kuldeep bagged 3.
Chasing 164 runs, DC openers Faf du Plessis (50) & Jake Fraser-McGurk (38) went after SRH bowlers with 81 runs opening stand.
Faf scored quick fire 50 (27) that included 3 sixes and 3 boundaries.
KL Rahul (18) also played cameo and departed on 115.
SRH leg spinner Zeeshan Ansari dismissed Faf, Jake & Rahul.
The match was well ended by Abhishek Porel (34*) & Tristan Stubbs (21*) with 51(28) partnership, that took DC past the target in 16 overs.
Starc was adjourned man of the match for his heroic spell.
