Mumbai: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) tried their best to stay in contention for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 playoffs, defeating Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets. The franchise’s hopes of progressing to the next round, however, are reliant on the outcome of Saturday’s match between the Delhi Capitals and the Mumbai Indians.

Virat Kohli has promised his franchise’s support to MI, who must defeat DC in their last league encounter of the season. In fact, Kohli hinted that he would attend the match to help Rohit Sharma and his teammates in their victory over Rishabh Pant’s team.

“Trying to put our feet up and chill out for 2 days and support Mumbai. We have 2 more supporters for Mumbai, not just 2 but I think 25 more supporters,” Kohli said while speaking to Faf du Plessis in an interview for the IPL after the match on Thursday.

“You might see us in the stadium as well,” he added as Du Plessi began the “Mumbai, Mumbai” chants during the chat.

Kohli finally looked like himself in an RCB shirt after a long time. The 33-year-old led the attack in the chase of 169 runs with a 54-ball 73. In an interview with the RCB captain, Virat highlighted the advantages of batting with Faf in the middle.

“For me, the best about batting together, opening the innings has been the experience that we have shared out there in the middle. Applying that experience to give the team starts is something that I am proud of. We just sync together very nicely from the first season itself which is a great thing for the team,” Kohli said.
