The 4th match of the IPL 2022 will see Gujarat Titans facing off against Lucknow Super Giants on 28th March.

Mumbai: Gujarat Titans, the new IPL 2022 team, will play their inaugural game Today against the Lucknow Super Giants, another new entrant at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai at 7:30 PM IST, and the live-action can be viewed on Star Sports Network and Hotstar.

The most notable signing for the Gujarat Titans’ first IPL season was Afghanistan leg spinner Rashid Khan, arguably the best T20I bowler in the world, who has left Sunrisers Hyderabad to lead this Gujarat Titans bowling attack, which also includes Indian pacer Mohammed Shami and New Zealand pacer Lockie Ferguson. Following England’s white-ball specialist opener Jason Roy pulling out of the IPL 2022, the Gujarat Titans signed another Afghan talent, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, as his replacement, while all-rounders Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, and Rahul Tewatia provide balance to the side.

On the other hand, Indian international batter and former Punjab Kings star KL Rahul leads LSG in their inaugural season, with bowler Avesh Khan and all-rounders Deepak Hooda and Krunal Pandya assuring a strong Indian core. The top-order partnership between KL Rahul and former IPL winner Quinton de Kock is arguably the most exciting aspect of the Lucknow Super Giants, though the South African’s availability for the opening match is uncertain, and an injury to fast bowler Mark Wood has seen the team draught in Australian pacer Andrew Tye as a replacement.

This will be an exciting matchup between these two brand new franchises, who will both be eager to make their mark on the tournament.
