Mumbai: After the Covid-19 scare rocked the camp, the Delhi Capitals players tested negative in the first round of RT-PCR tests. According to reports, an anonymous player tested positive for the virus in a quick antigen test days after team physio Patrick Farhart did.

A medical team from the Board of Control for Cricket in India will conduct another round of RT-PCR testing on the players and support personnel. The Delhi Capitals team was quarantined on Monday, and their trip to Pune, where they were scheduled to face the Punjab Kings on Wednesday, was canceled.

The scheduling for Wednesday’s match at the MCA Stadium in Pune has not changed as of yet. Only after negative findings in the second RT-PCR testing will the players and support personnel be permitted to take the field.

Patick Farhart’s positive Covid-19 test was the first in IPL 2022. In order to eliminate air travel, the BCCI devised bio-bubble arrangements and chose just Mumbai and Pune as the two host cities for the new 10-team season.
