Mumbai: Concerns of Covid positives affecting the ongoing IPL season, after Delhi Capitals’ Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh tested positive on Monday. He has been admitted to the hospital after reportedly recording a low CT value in the RT-PCR test.

Marsh will need to isolate for at least a week so will miss at least the games against the Punjab Kings on Wednesday and Saturday’s clash with the Rajasthan Royals.

“Delhi Capitals all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has tested positive for COVID-19, following which he has been admitted to a hospital. The Delhi Capitals medical team is closely monitoring Marsh’s condition,” the franchise announced in a press release.

Apart from Marsh, one member of DC’s team doctor Abhijit Salvi and another member of support staff members are also positive. Every other DC player has tested negative in Monday’s RT-PCR tests.

“A few more members from the Delhi Capitals bio-bubble, including support staff members, have returned positive tests as well. Though they are all asymptomatic, their condition is being monitored closely by the franchise.

“All remaining members of the bubble are currently in isolation in their respective rooms, and will be tested regularly.” The statement added.

Marsh will need to isolate for at least a week so he will miss at least two games against the Punjab Kings on Wednesday and Saturday’s clash with the Rajasthan Royals. DC had last played the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Saturday at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
