Final two league matches of IPL 2021 season set to be played simultaneously

New Delhi: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government have finally agreed that crowds will be allowed to watch the matches from the stands in the second phase of IPL 2021, scheduled to start from September 19.

In an official statement issued by the BCCI, it has been said that the fans have been allowed to enter the stadium, and tickets for IPL matches will be available from September 16 on the official website www.iplt20.com and PlatinumList.net.

“The VIVO Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 resumes with the five-time champions and current title holders Mumbai Indians taking on three-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on September 19,” BCCI wrote in a statement.

“This match will be a momentous occasion as IPL will welcome the fans back to the stadiums after a brief hiatus owing to Covid-19 situation,” it added.

IPL 2021 was suspended in early May due to the COVID-19 scare in the camp. The remaining 31 matches of the cash-rich league will resume in the UAE and will be played across three venues Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. In all 31 matches, 13 matches will be held in Dubai, 10 in Sharjah, and eight in Abu Dhabi.
