Sharjah: Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Punjab Kings by six runs to advance to the IPL play-offs on Sunday. RCB scored 164 for 7 in their first innings and then limited Punjab to 158 for 6 in 20 overs. Yuzvendra Chahal, RCB player, was the standout once again, taking 3/29 in four overs. With 16 points, RCB has officially joined CSK and DC as the third team to reach the last four stage.

In RCB’s 164 for 7, Glenn Maxwell scored 57 off 33 balls, while Devdutt Padikkal added 40. Virat Kohli contributed 25 runs while Mohammed Shami (3/39) and Moises Henriques (3/12) took the most wickets for Punjab. This is Sharjah’s highest total of the season.

On the other hand, KL Rahul and Mayank Agarwal, the PBKS openers, got off to a good start in pursuit of the 165-run goal, contributing 49 runs in the powerplay. However, their downfall began when PBKS captain KL Rahul was bowled for 39 runs by Shahbaz Ahmed in the 11th over.
