Dubai: New Zealand wicketkeeper-batsman Tim Seifert has replaced injured USA pacer Ali Khan at Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). The right-arm fast bowler was the first USA cricketer to be signed by the IPL franchise.
Earlier, Khan was named as a replacement for English seamer Harry Gurney but the USA pacer was ruled out of the tournament without playing a game due to an injury on October 7. He had suffered a side strain while playing in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL)

A report in New Zealand media company Stuff has said, “Seifert’s domestic team, Northern Districts, had ‘confirmed’ that the cricketer ‘was another absentee’ (for the upcoming Plunket Shield). The 29-year-old Khan was also a part of the title-winning team Trinbago Knight Riders in the CPL.
