Kolkata : Bengal defeated Gujarat by 141 runs at Eden Gardens, Kolkata in Day 4 of Ranji Trophy 2025-26. Mohammed Shami took 5 wickets to earn 2nd victory on trot.
Chasing 327 runs, Gujarat youngster Urvil Patel (109*) smashed unbeaten century, fighting from one end, however, Shami’s 5-fer & Shahbaz Ahmed’s 3 wickets earned Bengal the vital victory.
Earlier, in first innings, Bengal Batters Sumanta Gupta (63), Sudip Gharami (56), Abhishek Porel (51) powered Bengal to 279 runs.
In reply, Gujarat could manage only 167 runs, as Bengal spinner Shahbaz clinched 6-fer. Shami picked 3.
In 2nd innings, Gharami and Anustup Majumdar smashed half centuries to take Bengal to lead of 326 runs.
