Tokyo: Indian rowers Arjun Lal Jat and Arvind Singh’s fairytale Tokyo Olympics campaign came to an end after the duo finished sixth in men’s lightweight double sculls semifinal 2 on Wednesday.

Arjun and Arvind clocked 6:24.41s to finish last in the six-team semifinal 2 at the Sea Forest Waterway. The top three pairs in each of the two semifinals qualify for the final. However, the Indian duo are leaving after creating history for the country.

The Arjun-Arvind pair produced the best-ever Olympic performance by India when they reached the semifinals after finishing second in the Repechage round. While Arjun assumes the role of the bower, Arvind is the team’s stroker.
