Kolkata: India white-ball captain Rohit Sharma once again defended Virat Kohli amid lean patch keeping aside their rumored rough relation during a virtual press conference on Tuesday. He said that the veteran knows how to handle the scenario ahead of The T20I series.

Sharma pointed at the media for over-analyzing the former captain’s batting form. He reiterated that the team management is not having any issues with Kohli.

“I think it will start with you guys (media). If you guys can keep quiet for a while, then Virat Kohli will be fine and everything will be taken care of. He is in a great mental space, and he has been part of international cricket for more than a decade, when someone has spent such a long time in international cricket, they know to handle pressure situations. I think it all starts from you guys, if you can keep it quiet for a bit, everything will fall in place,” said Rohit during a virtual press conference when asked about his view on Kohli’s lean patch.

Kohli has only managed to score 26 runs in the ODI series against West Indies. Kohli had scored 8 runs in the first ODI and 18 runs in the second ODI. Though the Indian cricket team did manage to clinch the series fans left disappointed with Kohli’s performance.

India to face West Indies in a three-match T20I series in Kolkata starting Wednesday. And all three matches will be played at Eden Gardens.
