ICC WORLD CUP 2023 : India announce Provisional World Cup squad

Kolkata: Rohit Sharma led Indian team announce the provisional 15 men ICC MEN’S WORLD CUP 2023 Squad in a press conference along with chief selector Ajit Agarkar. The tournament will start from 5th October till 19th November hosted completely by India.

With a view of winning the glory after 12 years since last World Cup win, India announce a squad consisting a mixture of youth and experience .

KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer, over whose fitness issues doubts had been looming , are back to the squad. In form Ishan Kishan and top order Batsman Shubman Gill, who loves scoring runs on Indian tracks, 360° Batsman SuryaKumar Yadav, along with veteran – Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma form the Batting powerhouse at the top.

All rounders Ravindra Jadeja, Hardik Pandya, the vice captain, Shadul Thakur, Axar Patel, who can hit the ball big with the bat as well as give crucial breakthroughs with the ball form the pillar of the lower middle order as well as main support to the bowling department.

The bowling department of Indian team comprises lethal pace attack and tricky spinners especially on the favourable Indian turning tracks. Veteran pacers like Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Siraj will be the pace trio to watch out for, accompanied by all rounders Hardik Pandya, Shadul Thakur.
The spin department comprising Kuldeep Yadav , Axar Patel, Ravindra Jadeja will play a crucial role in tricking the opposition Batters with their turn.

The squad with its mixture of youth and experience will be a strong contenders for bringing back World Cup after 12 years. India will begin their World Cup campaign on 8th October against the 5 times World Cup champion Australia in Chennai.
