Antigua: India have produced a stellar all round performance and beaten Australia down by 96 runs in the second semi-final of the ICC U19 World Cup 2022. With this India advanced to their fourth consecutive final and will now lock horns with England in the summit clash.

Batting first, India posted a big 290/5 thanks to their captain Yash Dhull. Dhull led the side from the front and scored an unbeaten 110. The captain found great support from his deputy, Shaik Rasheed, who scored 94 which helped India reach a formidable score of 290/5 (50).

Youngster Vicky Ostwal was the pick bowler for India in fine bowling form for India, as he took three wickets. Meanwhile, Nishant Sindhu, Ravi Kumar registered two dismissals each, and Kaushal Tambe, Angkrish Raghuvanshi took a scalp each.

In response, chasing a target of 291 runs, Australia got off a shaky start as they faced a major batting collapse losing in-form opener Teague Wyllie. Following his dismissal, Campbell Kellaway and Corey Miller showed some resistance before Angkrish Raghuvanshi put an end to their show by trapping Miller LBW on 38(46).

While Lachlan Shaw was top-scoring for them with a half-century. Kellaway too departed soon on 30(53) and ever since his dismissal Australia kept losing wickets in regular intervals and were eventually bundled out on 194 in 41.5 overs.

Brief Scores: India 290/5 in 50 overs (Yash Dhull 110, Shaik Rasheed 94; Jack Nisbet 2-41, William Salzmann 2-57) beat Australia 194 in 41.5 overs (Lachlan Shaw 51; Vicky Ostwal 3-42, Nishant Sindhu 2-25, Ravi Kumar 2-37) by 96 runs
