Kolkata: Mohammedan SC registered their first loss of the season as Churchill Brothers Goa got better of them in a tight knit 2-1 affair at the Kalyani Stadium. On the same day, earlier I-League debutantes Rajasthan United FC shared points with AIFF’s youth set up Indian Arrows at the Naihati Stadium.

Churchill Brothers started their game in a great note as it took the Goan side only two minutes to register their first goal of the day, banking on defensive error from Mohammedan SC defenders.. Miss Communication at the back between the keeper and the defender of Mohammedan Sporting SC, and the Churchill Brothers Nigeria Striker, Kenneth Ngwoke was present on the spot, with an easy shot on the goal gave Churchill a lead.

Coming back from the break, in about 10 minutes, Mohammedan SC foreigner, the Trinidad and Tobago striker Marcus Joseph found a much anticipated equalizer for the Kolkata side. Marcus sublimely looped in a perfect cross by Nikola, to bring the comeback on the papers.

However, the  relief was short lived as another 63rd minute goal by Ngwoke gave Churchill Brothers their first win of the season. Although, Marcus Joseph still remains the top scorer of the league with eight goals in  five games.

Earlier at the Kalyani Stadium, Rajasthan United and Indian Arrows played a rather lack luster goalless stalemate. The Indian Arrows defended with all their hearts out and ended up with a draw. A disappointing day for Rajasthan United FC and especially Pedro Manzi, who could not able to finish his chances. If the players of Rajasthan United FC took their chances the scoreline could have been different.

Later TRAU FC claimed a 3-0 win over debutantes Kenkre FC. Goals from Krishnanda, Douglas Santana and Pratim Gogoi ensure three points for the team from Imphal. With the win, TRAU reach the sixth position while Mohammedan SC keep the first.
