New Delhi: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Sunday (August 23) took to Twitter to give a glimpse of the team room in Abu Dhabi to their fans. The 2012 and 2014 Indian Premier League (IPL) Champions arrived in UAE on Thursday (August 20).

The 13th edition of the cash-rich league has been moved outdoor to UAE due to the rising coronavirus impact in India. “New city, New #HomeOfTheKnights Sneak-peek into the #KKR Team Room in Abu Dhabi,” KKR captioned the tweet.

The room which looks like a banquet hall has been fully covered with KKR colours with purple-coloured beam bags on both sides kept a distance from each other. A couple of tables have been put in the middle including table tennis and snooker tables.

Former KKR batsman Brendon McCullum has been appointed as the head coach of the franchise for this season. They finished fifth in the table last year under the captaincy of Dinesh Karthik. Three venues in the UAE — Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah — will host 60 games in 35 days. Earlier in 2014 UAE has hosted the T20 league partially due to the general elections in India.

All the players and support personnel will have to go through five rounds of COVID-19 tests before they are cleared to play the games.
