France, Spain secure first wins in qualifiers; Germany, Sweden, Denmark keep forms intact

Saint-Denis:  France secured their first win in World Cup qualifiers beating Kazakhstan 2-0 at the Astana Arena. Sergiy Maliy scored an own goal preceded by Ousmane Dembele’s opener in the 19th minute. Kylian Mbappe missed a second-half penalty.

Germany secured their second consecutive win in the tournament as an early Serge Gnabry goal gave them a 1-0 win over Romania in Group J on Monday. Meanwhile, Sweden also secured their second consecutive win with a 3-0 scoreline against Kosovo with goals from Ludwig Augustinsson, Alexander Isak and a penalty from Sebastian Larsson.

Robert Lewandowski scored twice and helped Poland to a 3-0 victory over Andorra. Andrea Belotti and Manuel Locatelli scored in a 2-0 win for Italy against Bulgaria and made it two wins from two games in Group C.

Dani Olmo scored a late goal for Spain in a 2-1 win away to Georgia. Denmark ran havoc as they thrashed Moldova 8-0 to top Group F, with Kasper Dolberg and Mikkel Damsgaard both scoring a brace in the game.
