Final two league matches of IPL 2021 season set to be played simultaneously

Dubai: The Indian Premier League’s (IPL) final two league matches of the season will be played simultaneously on October 8. As per the schedule, the fixtures on that day were SunRisers Hyderabad going against Mumbai Indians in Abu Dhabi in the afternoon while Royal Challengers Bangalore locking horns with Delhi Capitals in the evening in Dubai.

However, both the games are now to be played in the evening on the day, at 6pm local time. Although the reason behind this are yet to be disclosed.

“In a first for the IPL, the last two league matches before the VIVO IPL 2021 Playoffs will be played concurrently. On the last day of the league stage of the ongoing season, instead of having one afternoon match and one evening match, two matches will be played simultaneously at 7.30 PM IST” added BCCI Secretary Jay Shah in a official statement.
