FC Goa sign experienced Indian defender on loan

Goa: Indian Super League(ISL) side FC Goa have signed Indian defender Adil Khan on loan from Hyderabad FC for the rest of the season.

The club unveiled the new signing on social media on Friday(January 22).

 

“Being from Goa, FC Goa is a club that has always been close to my heart, and finally the circumstances were exactly right for the move to happen. I am not only going to my hometown club, but it is also one of the biggest clubs in the country and their track record shows it all,” the 32 year-old added on the move.

“Being a Goan, playing formerly in a team with a similar style and having known the players, I believe I can make a real mark on the team,”

Capable of playing both as a defender as and as a defensive midfielder, Adil started his career at the Sporting Clube de Goa before moving to Mohun Bagan to play in the I-league while making 61 appearances in the ISL representing Delhi Dynamos, Pune City and Hyderabad FC and with the experience of 11 international caps of India, FC Goa get a player who can bring solidity alongside versatility to them.

“He’s a player who comes with a proven pedigree and will add to the team his leadership qualities as well. I’m sure he’ll be an asset for the team going into the second half of the season and in our maiden adventure into Asia,” explained Ravi Puskur, FC Goa Director of Football.
