This strategic partnership will make sure young Indian talents get opportunities to train and hone their skills under the facilities of the German Club while there will be an exchange of information about youth set up and footballing technicalities.
Established in 2009, the Bundesliga side RB Leipzig is a team that grew very fast over the past few years. They qualified for the UEFA Champions League in the 2017-18 season before making it to the semi-finals of the tournament last season playing a certain brand of football that captured everyone’s attention under an equally talented manager Julian Nagelsmann who is just 33.

While partnering with FC Goa will be a big boost for Indian football as well considering their recent prowess of nurturing young talents like Timo Werner who was the second-highest goal scorer last season in the Bundesliga along with two Frenchmen Dayot Upamecano, one of the best young defenders and Christopher Nkunku.
This will be the first time, the Red Bull conglomerate will enter Asia after their set-up in Europe, the USA and Brazil. “We are very much looking forward to the partnership with FC Goa, because this club is a perfect fit for us with its young, modern, and innovative approach. We want to break new ground with RB Leipzig and take our first steps internationally. Our cooperation with FC Goa is the first step of a wider internationalisation strategy.
“The up-and-coming and rapidly growing Indian market is perfectly suited to cooperation. The discussions with FC Goa were very open, convincing, and purposeful from the beginning. Additionally, such a partnership also offers the opportunity to represent the Bundesliga in India in the best possible way and, to a certain extent, act as an ambassador,” added Oliver Mintzlaff, CEO of RB Leipzig.
