Goa: FC Goa have announced the official squad numbers for the 2020-21 season which will be seen in both the ISL and the AFC Champions League in which the club will compete.
This new season saw not a lot of reshuffle in the squad numbers. However, there were a total of 12 new faces in the squad with a number of players also coming up through the ranks to train with first-team this season.
New lad on the block, Alberto Noguera will have the No.5 while the Aussie James Donachie have gone for No.8 which popularly was with Coro for the last three seasons. The man from Spain Jorge Ortiz will wear No.9. Ivan Gonzalez has shuffled to the No.4 shirt over his favourite 24 due to the midfielder Lenny Rodrigues who takes it.
“I would have loved to wear the number 24. That’s the number that Kobe Bryant used to wear and I am a huge fan,” remarked Ivan. However, that number is synonymous with Lenny at FC Goa,” added Ivan.
New signings from the Indian contingent Phrangki Buam took No.16 while Makan Winkle Chothe and Ishan Pandita took No.19 and No.26 respectively. The new local lads Sanson Pereira (No.2) and Devendra Murgaonkar (No.29) have also chosen their numbers as FC Goa get ready to start off the season to defend the ISL League, Winners Shield.
