London : Arsenal solidified their chances to finish in the Top four in the English Premier League after defeating Manchester United 3-1 at the Emirates. Manchester United’s dream to finish in the top four spot however is almost extinguished.

Nuno Tavarez gave the Gunners an early lead scoring within three minutes since the start of the match. A poor display of defending from the visitors, pushed United in the back seat very early on. Bukayo Saka doubled the lead from the spot on 32 minutes.

Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently lost his new born baby boy started in the playing XI and also pulled one back for the visitors on 34 minutes. Ronaldo refrained from his characteristic celebration after scoring. Bruno Fernandes missed a penalty and therefore the chance to equalise in the second half. Arsenal capitalised henceforth and scored their third goal through a thunderous strike from Granit Xhaka.

Manchester City on the other hand, kept their winning streak intact as they registered a thumping 5-1 victory over Watford. Gabriel Jesus scored four of them, admist the rumours of him leaving the club. Rodri scored the fifth for City as Pep Guardiola’s men had the best possible outcome before their clash against Real Madrid in UEFA Champions League.

Tottenham Hotspur dreams to finish in the top four took another hit after a goalless draw against Brentford. Antonio Conte’s men slipped to the fifth position as their competitor, Arsenal leap frogged after defeating Chelsea and Manchester United.
