Southampton: Kolkata Knight Riders have been hit by a blow after their star recruit Eoin Morgan dislocated his finger in the second T20I against Australia at the Ageas Bowl, Southampton.

However, the World Cup-winning England skipper was courageous and returned to the field just after three balls. He wounded his finger while trying to stop Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis drive through the covers in the ninth over of the game.

As per the visuals, the ball hit the upper portion of Morgan’s ring finger and caused a dislocation of bones and bend towards a different direction. The 34-year-old left-handed batsman was in a lot of pain but he immediately got treated by the medical team and came back.

Morgan will be joining the KKR squad in UAE at the end of the T20I series and the incident has raised concerns in the Kolkata-based camp. The IPL 2020 is all set to kick off from September 19 in the UAE. England already have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series and, if they win the third and final match on Tuesday (September 7), they will overhaul Australia at the top of the T20I rankings.
