Kolkata: After months of speculations, East Bengal FC will soon announce Shree Cement Pvt Limited as their new investor.

The century old club are planning to announce the name before 4th September, 2020. And reports claim that they will take a real shot to participate in the 2020-21 ISL season. According to report the news is more or less confirm but just left with the official announcement.

East Bengal after their cut off with Quess, was looking for a new investor. Now that they have grabbed a big fish like Shree Cement they will be looking to venture into ISL if not this season, then surely in the next.

The Kolkata based company is owned by Benu Gopal Bangur and is the third largest cement brand of India. The annual turn over of Shree Cement Pvt. Limited was Rs.12,175.62 Crore in 2019-2020. Thus giving them 122nd spot in the Economic Times list of the big companies in India.

The reports claim that 75-80% of the share would be owned by Shree Cement and 20-25% by the East Bengal club. The club will try their best to enter the ISL this year but as the ISL committee has already made their plans about this year it won’t be easy for the Kolkata based club to join the league.

However, Red and Gold supporters will be hoping against all ods to be a part of the tournament just like their arch-rivals ATK Mohun Bagan who joined the glitzy league earlier this season.
